Studio 27 Woodwind Classes and Lessons
At Studio 27 our mission is to inspire and cultivate a lifelong passion for music through exceptional woodwind education. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students of all ages and skill levels can explore the beauty of woodwind instruments. Through personalized instruction, innovative teaching methods, and a commitment to musical excellence, we strive to empower our students to unlock their full potential as musicians. Our goal is not only to impart technical proficiency but also to foster creativity, expression, and a deep appreciation for the art of playing woodwind instruments. By fostering a community of passionate and dedicated musicians, we aim to contribute to the enrichment of lives through the transformative power of music.
Mari has a lifelong connection to music education and a commitment to the Mineral Area. She attended North St Francois County High School and actively participated in marching band, symphonic band and jazz band. Under the direction of Mr. Dan Schunks and Mr. Shane Verges, Mari performed clarinet and tenor saxophone and attended district and state competitions and honor band opportunities. Following highschool, Mari studied clarinet with Dr. Stephanie Zelnick at the University of Kansas and Dr. Gabrielle Baffoni at Southeast Missouri State University and graduated at the top of her class with a degree in Music Education in 2014. She returned to the area following graduation and has taught public school music for the past 10 years. During that time Mari has continued to perform with ensembles including the Mineral Area College Kicks Band, The Saint Louis Wind Symphony, the Mineral Area College Community Band and numerous chamber ensembles in the Mineral Area. She has given private lessons for over 15 years including teaching at her home and providing lessons through Marler's Music in Park Hills and The Mineral Area Fine Arts Academy at Mineral Area College. Mari has a passion for helping each student reach their fullest potential and is excited to be able to offer high quality lessons to students throughout the Mineral Area and virtually.
